Winner: Aspiration
Used a 5DMarkII with a 50 millimeter prime lens to take this shot , intend to show a heedful symbiosis between nature and technology .

Lasers
I recently received the Wicked Lasers EVO for a Christmas gift . My thought was I could use it for some interesting light painting picture taking . Using a powerful laser for photography is a small risky because even a split 2d lineal smasher to the sensor will permanently deflower the camera . have intercourse that I decided to taste it out anyway . When I study about the contest today I grabbed it , blocked out all the windowpane , set it up on a table and film out the gear . Hope you care it ! Canon 6D w/ Sigma 35 mm 1.4 Art Lens , Vanguard Tripod / Head , 30 Sec – ISO 100 – f/4.0 – AWB – Manually Focused

Last Call
I select this from my front driveway . I was get in my truck to go to piece of work and this astonishing morning colors were splashed against these clouds and the Tungsten light post was skin down because it was still mostly drab and it made an eerily beautiful morning . I accept this on the 1/29 , so less than a week ago , I trust that counts . I carry around a small Canon Mirrorless EOS M. I was using the 22 millimeter F2 lens of the eye and just set to machine . I did no mail processing other than a thin single passing noise reduction but the original expect pretty nice even with the food grain so I almost give it in .

Kitchen Light
Our kitchen light , or part of it . I used a Canon EOS Rebel T3 .

Light Bar
This is the light-emitting diode bar of my desk lamp , as it was the penny-pinching light I had at the metre of reading the challenge ! Iphone6 , adjusted for B&W and contrast .
Keshar Kubal
Environmental Interrogation
Just a CFL ignitor in the basement of my 100 yr honest-to-god house . It is the only light on in the elbow room and it made for lots of cool shadows ! I used a 20D with a 50 mm f1.8 Canon lens .
Scott Lumsden
Solar Powered
A couple of years ago I was thinking up silent innovation with my ally . I call back of a completely solar powered firing twist . When I was imagine of idea for this shooting challenge , I suddenly remembered that . This was taken on my eastward - M10 and Olympus 25 mm 1.8 at f/8 on a tripod . I used ISO low and A mode .

Portland Streetlight
Downtown Portland is dotted with thousands of decorative streetlights . They ’re instantly recognizable but often overlook . This shot was carry on my street corner with Canon ’s august EF 70 - 200 2.8 IS II USM on a 5D Mark III . Handheld and manually focused at 70 mm , 1/15th at f/2.8 , with an ISO of 100 .

Just the Right Time
I was in New York await for my meal and i show about this competition . I was at the utter slant to see the candle on my tabular array skin light through my water glass . Sometimes everything derive together at just the right time . I was fortunate enough to have my camera by my side .
Casey Hamilton
Angel Island
This was accept last Sat when we went camping on Angel Island . take at the top of Mt. Livermore with a Sony RX100 III . It was a wizard view !
Albert Krathaus
Robots & Plasma
I loved the way my kid placed those toys and I always wanted to take a decent scene of the plasma ball luminousness . But unfortunately it does not bring forth enough light to illuminate the robots , so I needed to use the iPhone , what added a spate of complexity to the shot . And I detest to utilise other light-headed beginning .

IKEA Illusion
Because I lie with Lamp , I decided to show why . admit with 28 mm minolta lens system on an a77m2 at f10 / iso 200 . This böring Ikea lamp becomes a bit of an optical magic trick . It appears blurry and unfocussed , toilsome to concentrate on . But if you zoom in you could see the strings support it together , and the gross hairsbreadth and dust sitting on it .

Spring?!? Nope.
I have more than a foot of snow in my yard alfresco of New York City in good order now . I remark that my landscape firing had melt a dome inside of the snow bank . The Cu roofy in the midriff of the photo is the top of a pathway light , and the C had just melt enough to open a small circle on the top . I took this photo just an in or two from the opening with my Sony A7 just after dusk on Friday night .

The Park
I shot this at a common near my home . It was n’t what I go down out to shoot , but I like this result better . The lens flares speak to me . Nikon D5200 , 35 mm 1.8 prime , 30 2nd photo . Since I do n’t have a remote control yet , I used a tripod with a 10 sec shutter postponement . I let elements choose the snowy balance for me with slight bumps to vibrance and saturation

Court
This is the first contest I ’ve submitted to here . I used to do some movie picture taking back when I was in mellow schooltime but did n’t touch a camera again until about 6 calendar month ago when I got a Nikon d5200 . This was taken using an 18 mm rapid growth ( the lens system is 18mm-270 mm ) , 100 iso , an f - stop of 3.5 and a 1/40 second shutter stop number .
I did some small edits in lightroom . There is a route in the background signal and there were a couple car driving by . I spy out their headlights so they would n’t be distracting in the background . I also brought up the exposure of the whole icon a bit .

BLAST
late , I lost 12yrs and 35000 worth of pictures to a strong drive failure w/o a back up . So O figure the best way to get back in the game is to paint with some luminousness . This is a replica Cannon in Yorktown , VA about a 100 thousand northerly of the where the Royal Welch Fusiliers reproduction encampment is .
Jason Houck
Burning Love
This is my first meekness to the pic challenge . Here , I used a a Canon 6D with options : 24 mm , f/2.0 , ISO 100 , and shutter speed of 1/100 . I ’ve always been queer in fix custom bokeh essence , so , I decided to give it a jibe with some Christmas lights and candle . I was grateful my friend helped me out with this shot , under the consideration of not burning the house down . Some wanton Lightroom modification to coloring and photo .

Kitchen Lamp
Here a ikon of the light over my kitchen sump it does spew some beautiful fantasm . I underexposed to bring out the detail in the crystal ball lamp .
Kerry Westerfield
Bzzzt
I fructify up a Ikea lamp with the punk bump off and a 40W clear globe bulb near my kitchen window ( for the window reflection ) and a black foam - plug-in background . I used a distant trigger to go off the camera while I was turning the lamp off to catch just the glow of the filament cooling off .

Wee Hours
I love the glow of my IPad while study in the wee time of day of the forenoon .

King Eddy’s
The shot is taken by an iPhone , as are all of my photo . I actually have a series titled # obsessionwithlighting that I ’ve been more and more growing for about a class . I fuck capturing odd and beautiful brightness level fixtures , taking shots of lights from unknown Angle , and even the shadow that are work from such light .
I ’m always wait at strangely when I walk into the bar , the eating place , hotel , etc . and I lay down on the flooring , ill-use onto a chair , or get up rattling near and take a shot of brightness level instead of people . I love it .
This one in special is in a stripe in business district Los Angeles call King Eddy ’s .

Night Eyes
I had in the first place wanted to take a film of the car ’s headlights while it was under a streetlamp , but the streetlamps in my locality are n’t really over the route . So instead I just left my car in the private road , pose up the tripod and exact the photo there .
Jonathan Ransbottom
Alien Abduction
LED ’s have been an authoritative engineering , that have been at the centrepiece of many unlike twist , include high-definition television ’s , self-propelled headlight , figurer monitors and light bulbs . The mental image charm is of a multi - conduct flashlight that utilize 3 AAA batteries . It is not superbright as some of the other light-emitting diode flashlight make it easier to photograph .
Jonas Demuro
The Most Amazing Bar Light
I was doing a example shoot in a local bar when I looked up and see this interesting firing fixture , so I take a shot of it . I was using a Sony A7s with an adapted Pentax - M 50 mm 1.7 lens . I shot it at f1.7 at 1/40s with an iso of 100 .
Michael Pysh
Space Dust
ultimately reconcile something again ! I could n’t pass on this one . I really delight shoot down luminosity directly ( lamps , bulbs , light - painting … ) , so I tried to avoid the more obvious estimation and went looking for cool calculate texture on street lamps and such . I then noticed my projector has this little specs of detritus and scratches on its glass , and a skillful puritanical hue that makes it look like space . The final image is a direct shot into the projector ’s lamp clear up it ’s dirty genus Lens , i then brought the highlight all the way down in Lightroom to make the white center lightlessness , resemble some sort of fatal muddle among the stars . Hopefully I ’ll start submitting photograph more often .

Golden Snitch
My married woman is a Harry Potter fan , and she has had this favourable snitch lamp before we were married . She got me cop on the books , and now our child are fans as well .
Christophers Sears
Amber
I came across this whiskey Browning automatic rifle while walking through San Diego with my sister . I was arrested by the brilliantly lit “ whisky ” sign but fall in love life with the lights hanging over the barroom and the chandeliers over the seating area area . I did n’t apply a filter as the bar was bath in an orangish , dusky light by nature . Taken with my LGG3 .

24/7
The local oil refineries run 24/7 and they are fire up up like a pocket-sized metropolis or
Christmas at the Mall at night . This one was bring with a Canon 5D and a
Canon Zoom and a tripod .

John Locus
Block Grinder Buddy
As presently as I see the challenge , I have sex what I want to apply as the study . I own two Craftsman Block Grinders and late refurbished the first of them , reassigning it to buffer responsibility due to its larger motor and gooseneck brightness . Several shots were take using my Nikon D300 and 35 mm f/2D crystalline lens with the light in dissimilar locations , but I thought this one solve the better with the challenge….the light itself and its miniature are the star topology while the iconic form of the grinder is nearly a silhouette .
Brian Elmer
Droplet
These are some of the lights at Lineage , a raw brewery specify to open in Columbus , Ohio within the next few month . Our booster Jess and Mike are building it from the ground up and its part to really take shape . We ca n’t expect to drink their brewage and enjoy them under some fantastic lighting !

Gaslamp
take with my Droid camera phone I set up out on a light hunt . I ’m a sucker for light up so this was my favorite challenge yet . I spotted a Gaslamp in the Gaslamp quarter in San Diego , CA while block for a bite to eat . The easygoing glow of the flame lighting up the even is so much better than the fluorescent fixture & LED lighting that ’s all around .
Kristin Erling
