The Devil Wears PradacostarsMeryl Streep,Anne HathawayandEmily Bluntreunited Saturday at the 2024SAG Awardsto present the award for male actor in a comedy series.
“Two things: I forgot my glasses, clearly, and the envelope,” Streep said, before the other two stars arrived to bring them to her. “It’s an age old question — where does the character end and the actor begin?” she continued, with Blunt responding, “As we’ve just seen, Meryl and [herDevil Wears Pradacharacter Miranda Priestly] are sort of like twins, right?”
“No, no, that wasn’t a question,” Hathaway added in response, a callback to the film.
As Meryl opened the envelope, Blunt continued to jest, saying, “By all means, move at a glacial pace. You know that thrills me,” in reference to another classic line of Streep’s fromDevil Wears Prada.
Their onstage reunion comes 18 years after they starred in 2006’sThe Devil Wears Prada,which earned Streep a SAG Award nomination and an Oscar nomination for her role asRunwaymagazine editor Miranda Priestly.

In December 2023,Blunt and Hathaway reunitedas part ofVariety’s “Actors on Actors"series, reflecting on their time making the movie.
Recalled Blunt, “We just had a joy bomb of a time on that movie. I don’t know if any of us knew it was going to become what it did. It’s quoted to me every week. It will be the movie that changed my life.”
While almost two decades have passed since Blunt and Hathaway madeThe Devil Wears Prada, both have been supportive of the idea of revisiting the beloved film.
“Iwould do [a sequel]in a heartbeat just to play with those guys again. It’s so fun,” Blunt said during a November 2022 appearance onThe View.
