Bad Milo , out now on VOD , is a spirit - good , eubstance revulsion comedy . It sounds like something that should n’t live , but it ’s utterly marvelous , with majuscule funniness carrying out and grossout effects . The uncanny part ? This is an emotionally move flick about a behind fiend .

Bad Milo centers on Duncan ( Ken Marino , in a gravid performance ) , whose life has come to an impasse . His creepy-crawly boss ( Patrick Warburton , the Tick ! ) is forcing him to fire people and defalcate money from the employee retirement monetary fund . His wife , Sarah ( Community ’s Gillian Jacobs ) , is pushing him to get pregnant . And his parents are both kind of screwball . So it ’s no surprise that all this stress has given him horrible intestinal difficulties .
The thing is , he does n’t just have a polyp in his colon , as the doctor suspects . He ’s perplex a butt demon . And whenever he get huffy , it claw its way out of his fuck and murders someone . There are some earnestly bizarre and wrong expiry scenes , which would be thoroughgoing if they were n’t so slapstick . I wish well I could spoil them for you , just to have the joyousness of making jokes about nooky and putz that deep satisfy my inner 13 - year - old . But I ’ll part with you ! I want you to watch this movie and see the wonder for yourself .
Duncan , good guy that he is , just want to set things . So he reluctantly visits a hypnotherapist who identifies the true nature of his butt fiend , and encourage him to make public security with it . These scenes , along with many others in the film , will remind David Cronenberg fans of the film The Brood – you know , the one where an vicious therapist encourages a dame to “ give birth to her rage ” and she squirts out a bunch of misshapen infant that kill people for her . Bad Milo is distinctly an homage to this earlier film , though play for laughs rather than pure horror .
you may probably guess the basic plot of land outline of the film , as Duncan struggles with his inner demon , which he dub Milo . What ’s surprising is how psychologically true the movie wind up being . Duncan begins to cipher out what spawned Milo , which leads him to confront his absentee hipster father . These scenes are cockamamy and fantastical , but they ’re also a melancholy look at how the great unwashed warrant being emotionally unavailable to their tiddler .
If you ’re one of those odd masses who likes body horror , can humor , and sarcastic funniness , this movie will be a revelation . You ’ll be choked up by the end , and not just because of all the poop and the stabbing . I can not commend this eldritch small indie enough .
