Ellen DeGeneresis setting the record straight about the status ofher new U.K. homeamid severe storms that devastated parts of the U.K.
Afterreportscirculated over the weekend that the former talk show host’s farmhouse in England’s idyllic Cotswolds region had been flooded, DeGeneres, 66, spoke out on Instagram. At the end of a posttoasting her wife, retired actress Portia de Rossi, 51, on their 20th anniversary, DeGeneres added a postscript: “P.S. for those of you concerned, our UK farmhouse did NOT flood,” she wrote.
Others in the area were not so lucky. Multiple days of heavy rainfall and strong winds led to at least five deaths, as well as severe damage to homes, roads and rail networks in the U.K., theBBC reports.
A source confirmed to PEOPLE on Nov. 21 that DeGeneres, whose long-running eponymous series ended in May 2022,had moved abroad after finding a house she fell in love with.
“Ellen was in England house hunting in the beginning of October. She ended up finding a house that she loved and purchased it shortly after,” the source said.

“They hung out with [Clarkson’s partner, actress] Lisa Hogan and James Blunt, and The Corrs performed at the pub,” the source adds.
A representative for DeGeneres did not reply to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
A real estate insider back in California told PEOPLE at the time that the couple sold their estate in the town of Carpinteria in August for $96 million.
DeGeneres is a well-known collector of multimillion-dollar homes. In a 2023 issue ofThe RIV Magazine,Montecito Journal’s design and architecture publication, she shared that she has bought and sold over 50 houses.

PEOPLE previously reported she sold aMontecito, Calif. home in May 2024 for $32 millionafter restoring it and anotherproperty in the same town she owned for less than a year in April 2022 for $15 million. Some of her other properties include acottage she listed for $6 millionin 2022, and aMalibu home that once belonged to Brad Pittshe purchased for $12 million back in 2011.
“I don’t really travel a lot. So, house flipping is my version of travel,” she shared. “With house flipping, the scenery changes though I stay in the same general area. Only in a new place and from a new perspective.”
