Standing together on Thursday for an update on their joint commercial-grade gang program , Musk and Bridenstine seemed concerned in deescalating the row , exchanging regard and emphasizing their share end .
Perhaps as an Olea europaea branch or as a way to show that he ’s the expert guy wire , Musk prompt Bridenstine that NASA can portion out SpaceX ’s IP with anyone .
AsTech Crunchpoints out , Musk take the matter up twice . “ I ’ve been very very vindicated with Jim that any SpaceX data should not be deal proprietary , ” Musk articulate during a Q and A. “ It can be used by any of our competitors … No commission . ”

Musk reiterated the point later : “ I require to be clean : NASA can divvy up all of our IP with anyone that NASA wants . ”
Bridenstine responded by give thanks Musk , but clarify that there are reasons that NASA has to be cautious about who it shares information with . “ There is IP that it is in the involvement of the nation that we can not be sharing with masses , or with countries that would not have our interestingness at heart , ” Bridenstine said , according to TechCrunch .
While Musk seems to be present himself as a visionary who wants his innovations to proliferate so humans can explore the universe , NASA had to cue him that the government is more implicated with others on Earth who need to employ that technology for goals that conflict with American interests .
