The actress, 41, caught up with PEOPLE at the 18th Annual ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards and opened up about her adorable 10-month-old twins Maya and Cooper, who she shares with husbandBrandon Frankel.
As she spoke about their blossoming personalities, Sidibe said that her daughter is already a little “shady.”
“They’re 10 months old, and let me tell you, my daughter is low-key shady. She’s very cautious,” Sidibe says of Maya. “The nanny will come and then the nanny won’t be there for a few days and when she sees the nanny again, she’s like, ‘And you are?’”
“And my son is like a little weirdly romantic little cuddle bug. They definitely have personalities,” adds the proud mom.

Ahead of their twins' first birthday, Frankel shared a series of photos onhis Instagramand got a little emotional in his caption ashe recapped their first year. In the sweet new photos, Sidibe could be seen cuddling with their babies, smiling as Frankel snapped her photo.
“I can’t believe the twins are creeping up on a YEAR OLD! People kept telling us ‘the days are long, but the years are short’ and they nailed it!” Frankel wrote in his caption. “I find myself looking back at pictures and videos of them all the time, and they were SO LITTLE and are now SO BIG!!”
“I think about the three of you from the second I wake up til I go to bed. And often throughout my dreams,” he continued. “You are my favorite people on the entire planet- and there’s over 8 billion of those. Thank you for filling my heart with so much joy. I love you til the end of time ❤️.”
In December, Sidibe and Frankel got real about how challenging parenting twins can be as they joked about giving each other the day off.
Sidibe reshared the photo on her ownInstagram Stories,teasing her husbandas she wrote, “This is most def bragging.”
