Harry Stylesis no longer keeping his hair as it was.

Per the outlet, theDon’t Worry Darlingactor, 29, decided to rock the dramatic new look at aU2concert at the Sphere in Las Vegas, where he cozied up with his rumored girlfriend,Bones and AllactressTaylor Russell.

It’s unclear when exactly Styles shaved off his brunette curls (he waslast publicly seen in Septemberwith his longer ‘do) or exactly why he chose to do so, but one thing’s for certain: fans are mourning the superstar’s signature look.

Styles’ hair has been through many eras, including the time he decided rock shoulder-grazing strands in 2015. Yet, the one cut that has stuck for the past few years has been his coiffed textured waves, which saw the singer through his mega Love on Tour concert series.

Back in July, PEOPLE spoke with his hairstylist Ayae Yamamoto, the woman behind Styles’ on-stage looks, onhow she handled a mane with such esteem.

“His hair is so nice! He’s such an energetic performer and moves a lot on stage, so I have to think about that when I get him ready. He shakes his hair around while he’s performing, so I have to think about that movement when I’m doing his hair,” Yamamoto revealed.

“I really consider the location of the show and the current weather — the humidity makes a difference when it’s an outdoor show. We start with wet hair and I try to use drying products to counteract the movement and sweat. It’s not necessarily water-resistant products — I don’t want his hair tolookdry — but things that will keep his hair looking shiny and natural at all times. If it’s not enough product, his hair could fall flat, but sometimes his hair can get really curly. I want to have it keep the curl and volume.”

Of course, being in charge of one of the most famous heads of hair in the world, Yamamoto felt some pressure to get it right.
