Everyone ’s skipped the casual class here and there , but clearly Harvard University is taking it seriously . It ’s begin tracking the attendance of its students using unavowed cameras — and it did n’t tell them it was doing so .
The Harvard Crimson reportsthat the University has been using surveillance cameras to track attending . The devices take photographs in talk halls and then break down the images . While the system ca n’t seemingly name student , it can work out whether a seat is empty or not and then equate the full attendance to what it should be .
While those in charge of the experiment submit the experimentation to a reexamination circuit board forrader of carrying the test out and deleted the photos straight off , Harvard students are understandably annoy . The point here is that the 2,000 students on which the organisation was trialled has no chance to object or opt - out — they were n’t aware such a test was even happening .

The issue is now being expect into by a University superintendence citizens committee — and in time to come , such studies will have to be OK’d by undergraduate Dean ’s agency . [ Harvard CrimsonviaBoston GlobeviaThe Verge ]
