apart from turn signal , a car ’s horn is really the only tool a driver has to pass on with other vehicles . ( Besides gesture wildly out of the driver ’s side window , of course . ) It ’s so loud and harsh , however , that it always sounds like you ’re shout out at other motorist , leading to halfway finger and other unwished answer . But what if your car ’s horn was more cultivated ?
Mark Rober , an X - NASA engineer call on amateur sick scientist , is back with another creation that promises to drastically subdue the turn of rage incident on American roads . He upgraded the horn on his Volkswagen Jetta with three new configurations : A warm , polite , high - pitched bleep - beep ; an even more pleasant R2 - D2 - like electronic chirp ; and , finally , an air horn from a diesel motor railway locomotive to let everyone in a three - occlusion radius know you ’re quickly lose patience as someone lento crosses a crosswalk .
