This Valentine’s Day, directorTodd Phillipsis celebrating the love between theJoker: Folie á Deux’s criminal couple.

Phillips, 53, shared three new photos onInstagramofJoaquin PhoenixandLady Gagagetting close as their respective characters, Arthur Fleck, also known as the Joker, and Dr. Harleen Quinzel, also known as Harley Quinn.

In one image, Phoenix, 49, is seen in the Joker’s signature makeup while standing beside Gaga, 37, who wears a muted version of Harley Quinn’s mismatched red and blue makeup.

The following photo shows Gaga smiling as she touches her nose with Phoenix’s nose while they stand face-to-face on set. Phoenix stares into his costar’s eyes but barely cracks a smile in their closeup encounter.

The final image captures the fictional couple dancing in each other’s arms. They’re seen on theFolie á Deuxset, where Phoenix dips Gaga as they slow dance.

“Hoping your day is full of love. 10.4.24,” Phillips wrote in a caption, including the film’s release date.

During Valentine’s Day last year, the directorshared one of the first peeks at the sequel, posting the first photo of Gaga alongside Phoenix. Since then, Phillips has sparingly shared photos of the upcoming feature.

In April 2023, hesharedtwo images of the film’s leads and announced the production concluded. “That’s a wrap," he wrote. “Thanks to these two (+ the entire cast) and the BEST crew that the film industry has to offer. From top to bottom. Gonna crawl into a cave now (edit room) and put it all together.”

“Four years ago we had quite a ride. Lots of great memories. More to come,” he wrote at the time.

Jokerset box-office recordsupon its release in 2019. A sequelwas officially confirmed in June 2022. The same month, PEOPLE confirmed Gaga wasin talks to play Harley Quinn.
