On Wednesday, the “On My Mama” singer, 34, spoke withETat the Billboard Women in Music Awards, where she shared how much of a “disaster” it was bringing her daughter Hazel, 2, to the Grammy Awards in February.

“The last carpet was a disaster, so I think we’re gonna give it a couple years,” Monét told the outlet.

While her daughter isn’t making any more public appearances for now, the singer said she will still bring Hazel into the studio.

“Absolutely. She already is Grammy-nominated so it sounds about right, you know?” Monét added.

Although Monét was thrilled to be at the Grammys, her daughter appeared less so. Hazel clung to Gaines' back, sporting a sad face while the family of three walked the carpet.

Earlier this fall, Hazelbecame the youngest person to be nominated for a Grammy Awardafter she was nominated alongside her mother for best traditional R&B performance for the track “Hollywood,” which also features Earth, Wind & Fire. Speaking to PEOPLE aboutthe accomplishment in December, Monét opened up about how she felt learning that Hazel had become theyoungest Grammy nominee.

“It’s a really big deal. I think it’s another full-circle moment for me because during pregnancy, everything was really scary,” Monét told PEOPLE at the time. “People were telling me how bad of a career move it could be, how detrimental to everything it could be.”

She added, “Pregnancy, it’s going into unknown territory and no one’s story is the same. So, to have one of the more fearful moments career-wise turn into one of the best moments ever of my career is really magical. I’m honored to have the accolade for her.”
